Time to Tell Our Friends! (And spend the day before hand dry heaving)
Today we had planned an Italian themed dinner night with our friends to celebrate Christmas. We had all planned this well before we knew we were pregnant as a way to do something special without having to buy everyone individual gifts. We soon realized that it would be the prefect opportunity to tell everyone our good news!
I took some time to prepare pasta sauce jars with labels that had a picture of us holding the pregnancy test and read, "Prego." They also had baby ribbon tied around the lids holding on baby pacifiers. Italian themed and a great way to tell everyone! We had everyone sit in the living room before dinner and close their eyes. We rushed off to get the jars and camera to record the moment. We made everyone hold out their hands and open their eyes all the same time. Their reactions were a slow realization! It was great! We even caught it on video!
Everyone was happy for us and realized that the rat race for having children was on! ;-) Hehe. We hoped no one would resent us for being the "first" and not waiting until the spring as we had originally planned. We were not "trying" to be first, it was just the right timing for us! I am sure everyone understood, I just couldn't help but worry a little. The rest of the evening went well and it was nice to have told our friends finally! Now comes the waiting to tell the family! YAY!
